Lulu Johnson moved to Berlin and quickly learned the dating scene here plays by its own rules. She wrote a book about it. Then she started a podcast about it. Then she put it on a stage.
Now she spends her weeks collecting other people's worst (and best) dating stories, so you can laugh at yours a little less alone.
After a decade of Berlin dating — including surviving a toxic relationship and, memorably, a first date with someone who turned out to be a convicted murderer — Lulu started writing it all down. That became Dating in Berlin: Tales of Modern Love and Relationships.
The book led to the podcast, Dating, Laughter & Disasters, now past 80 episodes, where a new guest joins each week to relive their most memorable Berlin dating story.
From there came Blind Date Berlin, a live matchmaking and comedy night — audience dating stories read aloud, chaos guaranteed.
